Erik ten Hag friends have told the Manchester United manager to quit and admitted they are surprised the Dutchman is still at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag is facing renewed pressure on his manager after a dismal start to the season, with United 13th in the Premier League and failing to win either of their two Europa League games.

The 50-year-old remains adamant he is the man best suite to lead United to success but could be sack if United lose to Aston Villa on Sunday, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to watch the game.

Ten Aag escaped sacking in the summer after leading the team to FA Cup glory and signing a new contract with the club, with Eneos’ sporting department deciding to keep him on.

They have since backed the former Ajax boss by splashing out more than £200m on new players, taking Ten Hag’s total spending to over £600m, with the majority of the players failing to impress.

Recently, his friend Leon ten Vorde revealed the advice he gave Ten Hag as he tried to survive another dire situation.

The pair grew up together in the Netherlands and have remained friends for 40 years, and Ten Vorde claims he told Ten Hag to leave last season as United suffered their worst Premier League finish of their career.

“I advised him to leave last summer. He won the FA Cup, so you can walk out the front door.”

“He had a lot of injury problems last year, but then the coach thought, ‘I can turn things around.’

However, despite the external pressure on Ten Hag, Ten Hag’s friend insists the United boss is keeping his cool about his situation, adding: “How long do United think this can go on? That question is still on the minds of United and Ten Hag.”

“He’s generally calm and relaxed, สมัคร ufabet but I can’t imagine that this would really unaffect you.”
